Emgality

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭
Hudson, NC

Last year I had BCBS insurance, they denied my Emgality even after appealing 5 times. Switched to Aetna the first of the year and they covered it without have to do a prior authorization. It really helps reduce my migraines to about 1 a week. I know this wasn’t really a question but thought others might like to know. 😊

Cannibis Induced Migraines?

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭
Melvindale, MI

Does anyone else have Marijuana as a migraine trigger? I live in a state where its legal to use for recreational purposes and medical. I was never big on it but my bestie uses it for headaches, to help her eat, remedy aches. So ive tried it twice, once smoking it and the next time as an edible. Both resulted in a migraine within an hour. I was really hoping it might have been helpful. Anyone else have this as a trigger?

A MyMigraineTeam Member

I didn't know it was a trigger. I use it medically when I'm in a lot of pain from other things and the TCH helps with the intense nausea from migraines. Maybe I will give it a pass for a while and see… read more

Fibromyalgia Information? New Diagnosis To Go With Migraine.

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭
Athens, GA

Any information is helpful: I have over 20 medications listed I can't take. Most of the recommended for the Fibro we tried with the Migraines and does not help or I'm allergic to it. Gabapentin will NOT work as I get suicidal with it and I fight that enough without adding to it. Zoloft sends me to the ER with swelling, rash, and breathing issues.
Suggestions? Information on what to expect from here on out other than fight the insurance people and stay funtional?

A MyMigraineTeam Member

Thank you. I've done Tramadol and Torodal in the past decade or so for the migraine issues so it helped with the Fibro pains also so that it was "disguised" I guess. Treatments appear to be about the… read more
