Migraines And Epilepsy

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

Well, here it goes: As a kid, I had epilepsy and my brother said that in doing some research a woman found her migraines were connected to epilepsy. So my question is does anyone here have epilepsy and migraines? On a side note when I was 5-6 years old I used to bang my head to fall asleep and my old primary care doctor said I probably had migraines since I was a kid.

I have intractable migraine after having them episodic then chronic all my life. I was also diagnosed with focal seizures at age 41. Apparently, been having them all my life to. Docs think the staring spells were actual focal or absence seizures

I had temporal lobe removal in 95 because of epilepsy, because of that surgery chronic migraines started.

Hi, I started having seizures when I was 20, had brain surgery 11 yrs later because no medications helped(right temperolobectomy). Not long after my surgery started having awful migraines. Tried lots of meds and botox. Nothing helped. Since I live in Florida I got my medical marijuana card and started vaping for my migraines and it helps immediately ( within a couple of minutes) it has been the ONLY thing that has helped me! It's amazing to me really, it helps with all kinds of pain I have (tendinitis, stomach pains, any and everything!) I'm 46 yrs old and been dealing with the migraines since 2011, if you can try it legally it's worth it, trust me!! I'm a much happier person to live with, deal with just overall happier now!
