Does Anyone Have Tips Or Information On Migraine Diets?
I have a migraine journal ordered and I'm going to start journaling to keep track of my environment and foods I'm eating, but I'm not sure what diet I should follow. I don't want to limit myself to fast and cause more issues. Thank you
My Dr recommended this book: Heal Your Headache The 1.2.3 Program for Taking Charge of Your Pain by David Buchholz MD. It is a diet book designed for migraines.
I'm not exactly sure what type of migraine diet you're looking for, but I do know when I first started researching foods that trigger migraines I found out sharp cheddar cheeses, red wines, anything with MSG in it - pretty much a lot of your processed foods, foods with nitrites & nitrates - pretty much all your lunch meats with the exception of roast beef. I also think that includes salami, pepperoni, sausage, etc...those types of meats. I've also read that drinking pineapple juice can trigger a migraine as well (one of my faves).
When I eat sandwiches, I only eat roast beef because of this.
READ LABELS. You'll be surprised to find what has MSG, nitrites, & nitrates in it.
Google migraine diets. That'll probably be your best best. I hope I've been even just a tad helpful.
