Barometric Pressure....how Does It Affect You And Is There Anything You Can Do To Avoid Them?
My migraines are definitely triggered by the barometric pressure going down. It doesn't seem to bother me when it rises. I live in the Calgary, Alberta, Canada region and we have the worst BP changes in the country. Used to love the Chinooks over the mountains as it brings warmer weather but now that I have migraines, I dread them.
Barometric pressure dropping is my biggest trigger. Unfortunately other than taking my medication as soon as the migraine starts and getting in the dark with quiet I haven't found anything thing else that helps when the pressure drops. The only thing else I do is weekly chiropractic treatment to try to keep my vertebrae aligned. My last resort is shots at the ER.
I can tell when the BP is going to change. I feel like I'd make a good weather lady..lol. I heard Bali stays at about 70 degrees. I would love to go to Bali..anyone in? We could all pitch in for a Mugraine free House!
Absolutely my worst trigger is barometric changes up or down which happens daily here in March and April. This year has been much worst than ever and it is totally discouraging that there isn't anything that help with these constant changes. I am on amitriptyline 30 mg and take ubrelvy as needed but not more than 2xs a week.😐 tired of feeling in pain.
I am so sorry that the biometric pressure seems to have such a horrible affect on so many. I have to add my name to the group also.
I try to be mindful of the upcoming weather and have the ice packs, Medications, water, fan, blanket... Whatever I can think of. I am not always successful, but, at least I ve learned something else that might work next time.
I have moments when the barometer goes up or down as I'm in the Mid-West, not that far from Canada when it comes to getting the jet stream changes actually. Not that I would drive in that direction but we're only 13 hours to give you an idea of our closeness. Each time When I watch the Weather Channel for the jet stream movements, I see the flow coming down from Canada and how quickly it will strike on our area which gives me a better timing on when I should get prepared for the chronic migraine to begin making a visit.
I tend to follow the jet stream throughout the year but especially during winter months as well as during the hurricaine season to keep watch of how things are moving around the world plus see what is going to take an effect on our area. I hope my above reasoning helps give detail on how I manage.
