I'm taking 75mg/day now and for the past few years. It does seem to help quite a bit in keeping my sanity and being less physically and mentally affected by each migraine.

The biggest side effect for me was a general fogginess and sleepiness at first. I got used to both after the first few weeks, but I always feel more clear-headed and in control when I'm off it. I've felt like that's it's greatest benefit and detractor how it dulls and disconnects me in a way from the pain or focusing on it too much. It's reduced the frequency of attacks because of that. I just tend to sleep more, live less focused, and unfortunately gain weight as a side effect of either the results or medication itself. It can also cause infrequent leg spasms at night but that comes and goes. My doctor suspects it might have to do eith iron deficiency but I've seen it listed elsewhere as a side effect also.

Honestly, I don't feel I can go without it at this point. I've tried periodically to ween off it just to test it's efficacy because it can be hard to tell when I'm still getting migraines often, but I vastly prefer being on it. It definitely reduces the severity, frequency, helps me sleep, and improves overall quality of life in my mental state for me.

I hope that helps and I'm happy to answer anything else about it or just connect and follow up if you try it for support.
