Quick Question
Dr wants to start me on Topiramate as a preventative for my migraines. Side effects are frightening to me. Anyone have any experience with this older drug? It was prescribed because it’s the only preventative that comes in generic. Please help ,any feedback is appreciated, thank you
Yes, I used to take topiramate. I can't say for certain how it will work as a preventative drug because I already had a migraine when I started taking it but it did help lessen the pain to a degree for me. I know that side effects can often be scary but at least for me I didn't have any bad side effects, please keep in mind though that everyone is different and reacts to each medication differently.
Just curious if you decided to take this toprimate. I was prescribed too. My doc says I must take for 2 months before being on another drug. Am scared to be on it have one reoccurring vestibular headache a day. It goes away with Tylenol. Then back next day, etc.
No. Not trying it. I can’t see be fit if I can’t be on long term. Tried beta blockers already. I thank you for feedback! Glad something is working for you!
I tried it for 10 days and went off it. I was not myself, had alot of confusion and dizziness. I applied for Quilipta with Abbie Assist and was approved . It seems to be working g for me and I am grateful to be eligible for it as Topiramate was not a drug I wanted to continue. Good luck, maybe it will work for you, please keep me posted
Been on it since 2014. No issues.
