If Your Migraines Are Triggered By Barometric Pressure, (from Storms) How Do You Prevent Them?

I am on day 5 of migraine headaches. We have had several storms come through this week. Any ideas appreciated.

I use the WeatherX app. It will show the barometric pressure for your area. You can set your threshold & get notifications. The earplugs don’t work for me or using an acute migraine med. I am taking Qulipta daily & I have noticed it is raising my threshold. Depending on the drop or increase being & how quick it changes will vary my migraines.

Yes always . I have learned that addressing a headache with a preventative mef before it turns into a migraine is the only way to manage and shorten the number of days

In many cases the barometric pressure will set off the migraines. I can't always prevent because we tend to get storms that will come in quick. What I tend to do most of the time is watch the skies.

Sounds silly I know but by watching the sky I can judge on color and movement of clouds. For example, if the skies turn from a light blue to a darker blue I will normally take 500 milligram Tylenol. In the meantime of watching the skies I am also keeping watch of the local weather as they are great at giving me local updates. Another thing I tend to look for if the clouds start turning from this white puffy cotton into this white wavy look with greyish tone. In our area that's a warning sign so I've got the Tylenol out along side my coffee already.

It took me a long time to figure out the cloud actions and how to read them but I keep watching on a daily basis especially during this time of year. I found my favorite weather guy or weather woman I like to watch then got connected to them so I'm always watching, paying attention, and learning their lingo. Hope the above helps!
