@A MyMigraineTeam Member, Actually, everyone might find this useful! Here's a great video that explains why we hurt so much with migraine. It also mentions how it's not just a headache at all! It explains that it's a neurological event and shows what they think is going on inside our brain. It's short too. Check it out! Then show it to your family. https://youtu.be/RJeqcikMKAI

You can't really explain what a migraine feels like for a few reasons. One is different people react to pain differently. Migraines pain does not always feel the same, usually but not always. They can see your face contorted in agony but some people also can't handle it so it's better if they don't ask for themselves. Selfish, perhaps or maybe can't handle it. Some try. The only people that truly understand are the ones who suffer. Most people don't know that migraines are a Neurological Disease. They just assume, incorrectly of course, that they are just a headache. That is why this site is a treasure, we have all been there, we all get it ..And we all care. We are a family here. Don't ever think it's too old to talk about. That's what makes this site wk. You're not being hateful either Monica, it is very difficult to live w/a chronic illness. I pray your Neurologist finds the right treatment for you ASAP!!!!!

I tell people, "have you ever had a hangover? You wish migraines were that mild!" That always puts things into perspective.

A migraine feels like a vice grip around my head. Pressure, like my brain is going to explode. Sometimes like an ice pick stabbing me in the eye or temples.
