I did Botox yrs. ago & I would get migraines after some sessions. After awhile the treatments stopped wkg. altogether. There are so many treatments available today on the market that were not available 10 yrs. ago let alone the 70's. Talk to your Dr. There is no reason to suffer like we did in the old days. There are prescription plans & discount programs that your pharmacist is aware of & some pharmaceutical co.'s help w/costs also.

Maybe it's not the way to go for you. Some people swear by them. I didn't. However, I'm fighting the insurance company to try Amovig or another CGRP med. If they refuse, I may try Botox again. My migraines are up to 22-26 per month and triptans make me sick with flu like symptoms, plus throw my fibromyalgia into flare ups. I need some relief from somewhere! Hsve you tried treating your current migraine with cool damp rags with peppermint on your forehead? I know you can't feel it, but it seemed to relax my forehead some anyway. Be careful not to get it on your eyes because the peppermint will burn them. And recently I read an article claiming that inhaling steam fresh basil leaves can help a headache. I've not tried it yet... although two days ago I was cooking with a lot of fresh basil, and my headache did break the next morning. I just realized that! I wonder if there's a connection? Hmmmm.

Well, I got approved for Aimovig, but my copay is $478.00 a month. I can't afford it so back to treating migraine like I did in the 1970s before migraine pills were invented. I would imagine that botox will be just as expensive. Guess I'll try that basil steam bath since my basil is about to die from the cold.
