Howdy again, Migraine Warriors. I'm dealing with a symptom that seems to have dual causes & I'm curious who else struggles with it & how they deal with it, especially ways to reverse the effects. Memory loss. Like, severe dementia-style memory loss. Scary, will-i-wake-up-tomorrow-&-not-know-who-i-am scary. My causes seem to be migraine compounded by years of gabapentin (neurontin) use. I'm also 64 & I get what I call senior moments. Losing chunks out of your memory doesn't sound good. My own personal opinion would be to quickly see a neurologist & take your medical records. Please don't hesitate to do this!!!!!

You absolutely need to be under the care of a neurologist who specializes in the treatment of headaches. This is not a PCP's field. Memory loss can be very serious. Please get the right help!

I suffer with memory loss it was that bad I went to memory clinic they said it was due to fibromaligia and fibro fog, nothing mentioned about migraines. I poor hubby I kept repeat the same thing now it's getting to the stage I can't remember what things are called e.g. like the bin I would say the black thing. I would ask your doctor to refer you to a memory clinic and go from there.
Good luck

I’m the same way. I have a box of things to help when I get bad but I lose so much brain power thay I often forget to even take my meds. Doc doesn’t get it.

Thank you, SherylWorthington. It's horribly embarrassing. And it makes me feel vulnerable to manipulation. I can't trust my own memory to know if someone is feeding me crap & have to make a snap decision to accept or reject.
