Triptans - I Hate Them

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭
Auburndale, FL

I usually take a triptan medication when my migraines are bad but I hate the way they make me feel after.
While the migraine pain subsides I tend to feel really achy and just plain yucky after.
What do you take to get through this phase?

A MyMigraineTeam Member

triptans make me sleepy but since my cluster migraines most typically occur at 2am I can sleep through the night.

Asking A Doctor For To Fill Out ADA Paperwork For Migraines

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭
Houston, TX

I've recently had a real issue with having my neurologist filling out my Americans with Disabilities (ADA) paperwork for work, why? He stated in the paperwork that I might miss work occassionally due to migraines, but then put that I would have no symptoms that would cause me to miss. This caused my paperwork to be no good. Why would He fill the paperwork out in this manner? The paperwork wasn't for disability, it was to cover an absent from work and not be held against me. I had already used my… read more

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭
Alberta Canada

Hi everyone! I've survived migraine for 30 years now. I didn't always get an aura but the last year has been all about them. I'm 49 now so I'm thinking hormones are the culprit possibly??? I'm also extremely sensitive to barometric pressure changes and live in a very unstable climate(southern Alberta, Canada, which is known for Chinook winds). Regardless, I am getting these auras with different degrees of pain sometimes 3 times a day!! Needless to say my quality of life is suffering… read more
