Have Any Of You Had The Reed Procedure? I Have My Trial Set For September 9th. I Can't Wait!
I've tried EVERYTHING but this procedure. My Chronic Daily Migraine started in September of 2009 and hasn't gone away since.
Hi Annie! It's a nerve stimulator implanted under the skin. There are 4 "leads". There's a lead placed above each eyebrow and 2 place in the occipital region. You also have a battery pack (kind of like a pacemaker) implanted under the skin on your chest. They give you an iPhone to change the settings for your stimulator. You can have it low if it's not that bad or crank it up if your migraine is bad. You have to be approved by the two doctors that do it but if you do have it done it has an 80% success rate!
I haven't heard of the reed procedure. I live in Ireland. So it's not available here yet. What is it, how does it work.
