Over-the-counter (OTC) migraine relief medications often contain caffeine because:

- Enhances Pain Relief: Caffeine can enhance the body's ability to absorb pain-relieving medications like acetaminophen and aspirin, making them more effective.
- Vasoconstrictor: Caffeine acts as a vasoconstrictor, narrowing blood vessels in the brain, which can counteract the dilation that contributes to migraines.
- Speeds Up Relief: It can speed up the pain-relieving effects of these medications.

However, it's important to use caffeine cautiously to avoid dependency and withdrawal headaches.
