Is Magnesium Helpful To Migraines? If So What Dosage ?
When I was in the hospital mine was so low. They ran 10 bags of it in my Iv. Than after blood work the next day. It was still low so had to run more.
I try to eat foods high in magnesium as the pill would bother my stomach. My doctor put me on metoprolol for high blood pressure and my migraine auras stopped. I avoid salt and things that could raise my blood pressure
I also took 400mg of magnesium for migraine. It did help me a lot. However, because of bad kidneys, the nephrologist had me get off of it. I can certainly tell the difference too. Lately, for about the past six months, my migraines have hit a real high. I'm not sure what's causing it, so I have been investigating it and trying some new things.
I take 400 mg. of magnesium glycinate daily per recommedation of a neurologist who wrote an article on migraines in a health magazine I read recently.
Was recommended 500mgm twice daily which gave me diarrhea so break those tabs in half. That’s now 250 mgm 4 times a day which I do believe is helping and no more diarrhea.
