I Need Help Finding The Best Medicine For My Migraines
I am taking topiramate and gabapentin for maintenance drugs. I take the sumatriptan shot for rescue and Emgality shot every month for maintenance as well. I also use Biofreeze and icy hot on my temples, forehead and neck to help relieve pressure and pain! Good luck! Hope this helps!
Wonder where you get the coupons for the Nurtec which is 1200 a month and with insurance is 300.00 for 8 pills. That is a lot. Anything will help.
Hi
@A MyMigraineTeam Member - Most of the new meds have coupons as long as you have commercial insurance (not medicare/medicaid). For Nurtec go to Nurtec.com - look of the savings card/coupon. It works like a dream. I went the other day $945 for 8 pills (they consider 1 month supply) and my out of pocket was $0. I do the same thing for Emgality, the insurance price is around $700, I pay $0. I'm not looking forward to the day when I hit 65 and go on Medicare, my med costs will go through the roof.
Let me know if you try what I said and if it helped. I had NO more headaches after I did not swallow red dye #40! Best of wishes! I know how horrible it is.
I do not know if you saw what I wrote. It is a possibility for anyone reading this that it could happen to you. I had read about red dye #40 being made from petroleum oil only! In 2012, I quit eating anything with red dye #40 (there are other names for it, such as "allura"). I have not had another migraine since then!!! This happened after 45 years of migraines!!! I, also, have watched other dyes in my foods... just in case they might affect me. I wish you my best. I hope this would be the answer for you! Please let me know if it works for you.
