Does Anyone Experience Auditory Migraines?

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have chronic migraines with aura which I have been trying to manage for many many years. I have started to experience some other symptoms (balance issues) more recently which I thought was a separate issue. However while doing self research the subject of auditory migraines came up which I was not aware could be a possibility. I am curious if others experience this and what might be an indicator of connection to chronic migraine if it's possible to progress to thos additional symptom (it is… read more

If you're on Topamax that is a big side affect. I've been on it for 15 years, started off with a small amount now on 400 mg daily. My equilibrium is all off. I could just be walking and my body goes left and I'll bump into a wall that is feet away. I am so bruised up.
Just thought I would share that.
Blessings to you all.

Yes, music playing! You can hear a toon and a singer nearby but I can’t understand the words. It’s all muffled. It might be Dianna Ross, Country music or Rock a Billy. Things I don’t usually listen to and then it goes on and on and on…. Maybe just one part of a song, 2-3 seconds on repeat. Ugh it is not with every migraine but it happens several times a year. Also, time problems, mixing up left and right, memory loss, word finding difficulties, balance issues, dropping things. I could go on..

For me it's being off balance and nearly falling without being dizzy or light headed. I know ear problems can contribute to balance as well and internet brought up auditory migraine with off balance as well. Idk however how distinctions can be made or even if Drs would even bother taking the time to actually determine the actual cause. That's sad meds aren't working for you, I'm sorry. It's beyond frustrating to get no relief from treatments.

Don't know what auditory migraines are, but I am always dizzy/lightheaded. Haven't been driving lately because of it. Neurologist gave me tons of meds to try but nothing helps.
