How Do You Deal With People Who Do Not Understand Migraines?Any Advice?
I am dealing with one person who does not get migraines and she does not understand the help I need, the activities I can not do when I have one, how sluggish I feel after it and that I can not give it my all when I have a migraine etc. How do you get your needs met but not be rude to the people who do not understand? What helps them to understand , listen to you, or be more willing to help you?Really struggling with these type of interactions. Thanks for your help.
Its actually pretty hard unless they can somehow relate. The best advice I can give you is maybe you need more friends like you. Search online migraine forums and interact with others whenever possible. I've had really good luck finding others who understand on a few spots and I'd be more than happy to share a few of my spots with you π
I do believe I would start with a copy of this note⦠Just food for thought!
Frogs, sometimes depending on the person, I have said, "I really wish I could help/go, unfortunately I'm just not able. Please know we've tried to make it happen."
Something along those lines. I'm learning to stop apologizing.
Hope this helps π
Oh also one I found yesterday on the Google app store called Wana
Well l seem to really make friends with people who have chronic conditions. I find more than my fair share in Pen Pal groups on FB , I've been on a site called not 4 dating, able here.com, daily motion has great forums for people with multiple conditions, there is also a app in the google play store called Reach, there is one called shoulder, another called Lyf , I also notice this place is very nice as well.
