Has Anyone Had Experience With A Nerve Block Not Working That Is Taking Or Tried Botox As Well?
I had a nerve block last year and it made my migraines worse. Now I'm supposed to be starting Botox but I'm nervous I'll have the same reaction. Has anyone had a nerve block fail but success with Botox? Any help would be appreciated!
I have been getting Botox for about a year now, I think it works on the nerves that run through my scalp and temples that used to hurt to the touch. I have had a headache non stop for about 10 years now, so I'm probably not considered having migraines, but they are often very intense.
The problem with the Botox is that after 6 weeks or so or a week before my next next shots, the pain gets unreal, almost not worth living through. I have that awful feeling now and have to decide if I want to except the shots in a few days, or somehow suffer through the withdraws.
I find it is like Lexapro, it may or not be working but it's almost impossible to get off of it. I'm finding the same with Aimovig, not sure if it's working but know when it's wearing off.
If one wants Aimovig, Amgen is giving a free year of it.
Good luck.
I’ve done Botox for chronic migraine. Done 4 sessions in one year with no success. It’s not really painful to have it done but always bought on a bad migraine. Hope it works for u!
I have tried the nerve block which didn't work and now on my 4th lot of botox which I don't think helps but my nurse disagrees I am continuing for now as I don't have an alternate I also take topurimate
