Aura And Botox
Has anyone ever had success with using Botox to combat auras? I don’t get pain anymore, I just get all the nasty neurological side affects with aura. My neuro told me he doesn’t think Botox will help that, but recently read an article that said it may be effective.
Sounds scary, in my 20s and 30s mine weren't to bad either compared to now, but I had two bad ones where I couldn't see or hear or move but I came back to myself after a few minutes, still had the pain and stayed in bed. I have no aura. Mine are the worst they have ever been and I'm trying all sorts of meds now that I don't like the sounds of but I'm trying them anyway, botox has helped me somewhat but they ware off after 2 1/2 months and I'm only covered to get them every 4 1/2 so I'm back to square one all the time. I think u should try it if u can but it might take a few sessions before u know for sure if it's working or not, good luck
Hi jenette, sorry I haven’t been on in a while. I’m not taking anything for the pain. The form of the migraines just changed. Since 8 years old I had auras with severe pain preceding the aura. My migraines pretty much went away in my 20s and early 30s. Then I hit 36 and have HORRIBLE auras that seem stroke like. I’d almost rather have pain than the fear I feel during the auras.
What are you talking to stop the pain or what changed do u know
