Hello friends :) Have a stess induced migraine lasting 2 days. Ive used lavender, peppermint, a little caffeine, heating pad to back of the neck, cold wash cloth to forehead, massaging, a lot of other stuff. tried Excedrin, @Tylenol, etc. of medications. I don't like taking medication and it doesn't really even put a dent in the pain.

I just got a new pillow (Roscoe Fiber Filled Cervical Indentation Pillow) and I'm very happy with it. About $17 from Amazon. Helps keep my neck straight at night.

If stress is triggering your migraines you need to treat the stress first. Is the stress something that you deal with on a daily basis? If it is, then you might want to try restorative yoga and massage therapy to help relieve it. Talk therapy is also great. If you have trouble with anxiety and depression you might want to talk to a mental health professional. If you don't get relief form taking over the counter meds, stop them, they can lead to rebound headaches which can start you on a downward spiral of chronic pain.

I hope this helps.

Zinc is supposed to be really good. I take supplimets every day but the health shop said Zinc is very calming. Also a bath with Magnesium flakes/Epsom salts and lots of essential oils (maybe a bath bomb or bubbles just for fun.
Also if you can take times for even just a minute of meditation.
My therapist used to say "put your problems in a box" but that didn't work for me, but it helped a friend of mine.
What I used to do was I'd write down all of my issues and then just rip it up xx

Meditation works for me when my meds don’t to a point! Sometimes I remember not wanting to take any pills unless absolutely necessary. By 21 I was suffering debilitating migraines. Sometimes modern medicine is necessary and sometimes holistic remedies are enough! Sometimes both are necessary for relief and a good quality of life. Good luck!

When i feel pain in my neck, jaw, leading to my head -- inside and out -- i move my jaw and mouth and eyes to say W O W ... as BIG and WIDE and slowly as i can manage. I sometimes hold it. I also often do it four to six times, tilting my head back, forward and each side. ❀
