Do Any Of You Experience Odd Smells?

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭
Fort Mill, SC

I do not get these all the time but in the past few years, I have experienced a bad taste that I cannot pinpoint as coming from my nose area (I do not have a sinus issue) or from my mouth/stomach area but it is almost musty smelling and goes on for weeks at times. I started with this again about two weeks ago and the docs have no idea other than it is an aura, but I don't always get a full blown nasty headache with it. Does anyone else experience this?

I have found that I have become very in tune with noises and smells that most other people don't hear or smell. I find that smells I didn't like before or were benign are way stronger when a migraine is present. Phantom smells, as I call them, are pretty normal for me. I carry around a roll on of eucalyptus and lavender essential oils so I just smell that if the phantom smell gets overbearing.
