Does Any One Pace Or Have To Move Around During The Pain Phase Of A Migraine Attack?

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

Like most of us, when I have a migraine I want to be in a dark, quiet room until symptoms are gone. I have noticed in the last couple of years that sometimes during the pain phase of the attack that laying down is just unbearable. I find myself pacing back and forth in my bedroom or living room holding my head. It seems to relax me a little. I don't know. I have had migraines for as long as I can remember and the pacing is new.

Yes, I have become anxious and can't sit still.

Sometimes yes, because I’m trying to find a comfortable position for my head so I keep moving, while pressing on different areas of my face and head.

It's funny you mention that. Normally, I stay pretty still when under attack; however, last weekend, my head was really thumping but I could not settle down. I don't think it was a migraine thing though because we were looking for something. I eventually found it where it wasn't supposed to be! :-)
