Anyone Else Get Angry Being In Chronic Pain?
Does anyone else get angry/frustrated and very down when their migraine is hanging around, even if it's not the worst pain. I have chronic migraines almost everyday and I'm finding it harder and harder to keep a lid on my emotions and to not get angry because I'm in pain all the time.Anyone any advise on how they relax being in pain?
Sorry I haven't replied to you all,I just moved house last week so things have been manic. You've all given great advise so thank you! I'm sorry you're all suffering too. It really sucks that we all have to deal with something that is rarely taken seriously.
What a great perspective to have. Most of us realize that even if we know our triggers or don't, and know the cause or not, we will continue to get the migraine. So the key is learning how to cope with them on a daily basis. On the days where I feel really good I work on finding strategies, other procedures, trials, new doctors and dietary changes that might be beneficial to reduce pain. I'm not expecting miracles, but learning to cope and live each day.
My longest migraine lasted 14 months and have been chronic since 2004. I do get frustrated at times. What has helped me is to encourage as positive an attitude as possible and avoid the "why me" or "what ELSE can go wrong" complaints. I view my migraines from a "management" perspective rather than searching for a cure. For.the times I do get frustrated, distraction helps. A good movie or book. Cuddling time with Cap'n Hubby and/or 2 cats and 2 dogs. A nap, a conversation with good friends..it all helps. Every once in a while, i just spend some time alone. Each person needs to figure out what works for them.
I get angry, fusterated, and depressed. I have not found a way to deal with these other then to reconize them.
Yes, I do get angry when in constant pain who's is all the time.
