Migraine Neuropathy And Complex Migraine

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭
MD

Does anyone else have a diagnosis of migraine neuropathy or complex migraine? My migraines mimic a stroke. Loss of vision, headache, face, arm and leg numbness and feels like my eye is drooping. I'd love to know I'm not the only one. Thanks

A MyMigraineTeam Member

My daughter used to get migraines that mimiced a stroke. Back then they called them Complicated Migraines. Her neurologist told her to always go to the ER to rule out a stroke.

Need Help With Elevating Specific Migraine Symptoms.

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭
Carthage, MO

So my question is does anyone else ever have problems with certain symptoms that are rare (at least I've been told they are rare,) the 2 worst issues I have are studdering horribly can't say 2 without studderering speech sometimes for hours or days and my newest symptom is a feeling of my head/brain literally feels like it's on fire. I'm not running a temp. The rest of my body gets cold but head literally feels like its 200 degrees. I'm curious if anyone else has either of these symptoms. And… read more

Medication & Treatment?

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭
Sumner, WA

I seem to get migraines right around my monthly cycle (Sorry if TMI) I get them so bad where I have to constantly go from the bed to the couch, has anyone tried anything other than medication? I was given a Rx for Sumatriptan from my PCP but I find myself too far into my migraine by the time I take it. I also take it with Tylenol. I just want to cry and cry because my head throbs, I feel nauseous and dizzy.

A MyMigraineTeam Member

I used to get them around that time also. My gyn put me on a diuretic before my cycle started to get rid of the xtra water. Are you taking oral Sumatriptan? If so ask your PCP ( you should be under… read more

Mountain Home, AR

I have a TBI and have shattered the bones around my right eye as well as broken my collar bone. I wear contacts/glasses bc my eyesight is really bad. Do you think this is what caused my migraines?

A MyMigraineTeam Member

Your doctor should be able to answer that question better than us. Make an appointment. I'm sure he/she can help, but it sound probable.

Migraines Getting In The Way Of Work

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello! I’m on day two of a debilitating migraine. I’ve gotten them since I was a kid, but the last couple of months they have gotten worse. I’ve been missing work (dental assistant) and can’t help but feel mass amounts of guilt. No one there gets them, so I feel like no one understands how awful they are. Anyone else to through anything similar? I love my job and dread calling in, but some days I can’t get out of bed due to migraines. Any advice is much appreciated!

A MyMigraineTeam Member

Migraines are covered under the FML act. I have intermittent leave. It protected my job and let all the bullies know that it is a valid medical diagnoses that incapacitates me.
