Has Anyone On Medicare Been Successful With Approval Of One Or More CGRP Meds, I.e. Ajovy, Ubrelvy, Aimovig, Etc.?
I got approved for Aimovig and Ubrevly through Medicare, but who can afford them?!! Aimovig was $450 per shot and Ubrevly was $925 per month...even using Good Rx coupon to help out. I signed up for assistance on Aimovig through the Amgen Safetynet Foundation and was accepted for free shots for a year. There's apparently another assistance program for Ubrevly, but I haven't turned in my paperwork yet.
Due to having high blood pressure my Neurologist won't try to put me on those. I am on gabapenton for nerve damage and a generic muscle relaxer. Fioricet is the only thing I can take
I'm on Medicare and was approved for all 3. Unfortunately they didn't help me at all!!!! Alot of money down the drain 😪.
Tonya,
That is a great question. It seems you will have to appeal if you are initially denied, and it should focus on medical necessity. I have a few months until I make the transition to Medicare.
Is that correct AnnR as far as the denial claim?
AnnR,
Thank you very much for your answers. CKay
